Avoid fibre pulling and fuzz balls forming on your sweater by putting it in the freezer for the night. Leave the cashmere or wool sweaters in the freezer every time before you wear them.

How to get rid of unpleasant smells

To eliminate strong smells from your clothes spray a small amount of vodka. We all have days when only the shirt we wore yesterday brings out our charms quite so well and nothing else in the wardrobe will do! If there’s a problem with the shirt, try this easy trick. Alcohol kills the bacteria that causes the unpleasant smell.

How to get rid of foundation stains on clothes

Cover the stains left by your foundation with a bit of shaving foam. Then put your piece in the washing machine and rest assured that the collar will be white again.

How to get rid of lipstick stains

Use hairspray to remove lipstick stains. If your item can be dry-cleaned, spray a bit on the stain and leave for a few minutes. Tap the stain a few times and throw in the washing machine.

Another tip, use hairspray to stop ladders running on stockings. If you are in a hurry or just don’t have a spare pair of stockings, and a dreadful ladder is already running down, spray well the end of the ladder with hairspray or cover with clear nail polish. Bear in mind that this sticks to the material a bit too well and sometimes even washing can’t remove it. Also, after washing the nail polish leaves whitish traces, whereas the hairspray stays invisible.
